If you know me well, then you'll know that once I have an obsession--especially when it comes to movies--it rarely fades away until another movie comes to light. Examples? Monty Python. Bambi. Dumbo. Spaceballs. Star Wars. Wallace & Gromit. Casper. Need I continue? Well, especially when it comes to my favorite movies, an obsession may not vanish at all! (for example, Fantasia) However, if I can succeed into putting such an obsession into tangible form, then I can hush down the obsession. So of course, I HAD to learn how to draw Casper. Last night, I went off drawing ghosts in Casper-style, hoping that some of the style would rub off (which it did; I now draw irises smaller). Today I went downstairs and watched Casper, paying attention to the ghost's face and body. The top left sketch was a result of that (though I removed the remote control)--that is where Casper switches the channel off his cartoon. Then I focused on the face for that "dashing" expression--didn't come out perfectly, but that's the top middle one. And when Casper popped out of the cupboard with the Trio's breakfast saying, "Okay, okay, seesh," I had to draw a version of that (the top right; the right arm would have been extended, but there wasn't room). Of course, another visual pun. Possibly one of the most ingenius terrible puns ever, Stinky says at one point, "Scream or sugar?" Well, Casper has coffee and a cup of scream on the platter. Next up was flying. Wanting to make sure I didn't need a visual reference (as I do with most fan artwork *shudder*), I studied him very carefully and drew all the bottom ones (in order: Flying, Friendly, Sad, Proud) freehandedly while watching the movie.

So... Which one is YOUR favorite?

Hm... The heads looked so much rounder on the paper... :( Sorry that it isn't colored in! I have to hurry... But does anyone have suggestions on how to color a ghost OTHER than just all one color (white, white transparent, etc. = no; the style used in Casper, wispy, etc. = yes)

I'm getting good at coloring ghosts, huh? ^_^

Anyway, this was originally going to be me at my laptop saying, "Pfft! He actually believes I'm a ghost!" (I tried to make ~HyperactiveMothMan believe that I was a ghost on MSN a few days back). But then I remembered the whole "Ghost-to-Ghost network" that Stinky mentions in the movie. Hence, there is a NEW Instant Messenger on the block: not MSN, but GTG! For ghosts only!

Yes, that is my laptop. Ain't it lovely?

This was originally going to be ~HyperactiveMothMan and I back-to-back. However, after I got that expression on my face, and after I decided DDSS didn't really fit in the space provided, I couldn't resist but make this a standalone drawing. I've been trying to get this look and pose for a long time now, so despite the fact that the arms are obnoxiously non-proportionate to the head, I am quite happy with how this has turned out. Ghosts are fun to draw! ^_^ At least, when they look like Casper. Stinky is a pain in the butt to draw, and I still can't draw him! >M< But anyway... Ghost tails are nice too because you can have them as long or as short as you want, yet they never get in the way. Since this reminded me of The Spooktacular Adventures of Casper (a show which I never ever got to see and wish I had), I decided to seize the lack of Photoshop and do this in Paint.NET to make it cartoony. ^_^

The cartoonish look to it is a reference to Casper's older days... Anyway, this is another visual pun. What better sign to sit on than a "No Caffiene by the Lazarus!" sign? In the movie, Kat complains, "Didn't your father know about caffeine?" She does this after going down the Up-and-At-Em machine, which took her to the Lazarus with Casper. Casper had explained that the purpose of the machine was to wake his father up. Dreyfus was originally going to be to the right, showing the TRUE purpose of this picture: NO CAFFEINE AT ANY TIME! All my characters have agreed... Coffee HAS to go!

This is the smaller version of my fifth deviantID (it is normally too large). All the information for it may be found "here."

No pun in the name intended. I flew all the way over to Spain to inquire about how Raygirl was doing. ^_^ This is some artwork of my character (me, DUH) and good ol' Raygirl (~Raygirl13's character). Isn't it cute? She's showing me a photo album of something... But of what is up for YOU to decide! I'd color this, but it is 6:36am, and I have to get ready and then leave at 7:07am for school! Gotta post fast! This is for Raygirl, one of my best friends on deviantART. Thank you, Raygirl, for always being there for me, whether it be in artwork, literature, journal, or just pleasant conversation or help. It means a lot to me. ^_^

I'm going to color it tomorrow or something... This will be my most difficult work to color yet! *is scared* Well, as you probably (or hopefully, for your sake) know, I have an incomplete website. This is what is going to appear on the Home page, though, when this picture is done! So DUH the website is called The World of Russiac. -_- And as we all SHOULD know, Russiac is a very topsy-turvy place; think it this way: (The Neverhood + Alice in Wonderland + Through the Looking Glass) x 10 = 1st Dimension And then of course: (The Neverhood + Alice in Wonderland + Through the Looking Glass + American McGee's Alice + Rayman Revolution) x 20 = 3rd Dimension For Russiac, the main planetary body that I focus on (in fact, the ONLY one I focus on), is directly connected to the 3rd Dimension (home of Typhon and the Terreris). Russiac itself sits in the 1st Dimension. A food-covered Earth is in the 2nd Dimension, a strange and nonsensual void is in the 4th Dimension, a surrealistic Earth is in the 5th Dimension, and finally an anthromorphic animal-populated Earth is in the 6th Dimension. Anyway, this is but a sample of the crooked illusions, topsy-turvy laws, and surplus carrots to be found in Russiac and the Pandemonium Dementia (3rd Dimension). Right above the "The" is the official symbol of Russiac: a Terreris Cannonoggin's head in the middle, two squiggles and circles on either side, and with Serpo on the left, Veno on the right, and Veeno up top, with a pencil coming down towards his mustachioed head. And of course, there I am, sitting atop the W with a poorly drawn head.

This was both fun and disturbing to draw. o_O Aaaaaaanyway, I've been working on finding some way to show my own lack of a solid body in artwork, without breaking the fourth wall doing so. I admit, ~HyperactiveMothMan and ~Pady08 were my guinea pigs when it came to that. Both have artwork (which I need to finish) in which either I accidentally go through Bloodgrey, or DDSS falls through me. But this one worked best, because it is believable (surrealisticly believable anyway), I got to color the part that is inside me, AND I got to throw in another Cannonoggin. As, of course, being a ghost I can work my way through dimensions, right? So I did. Yes, that face shows that I am feeling quite disturbed with something alive going through me and not noticing. o_O Didn't feel a thing, but...
